Marcello Gandini, italian classic car design at its best

Marcello Gandini designed some of the best sport classic cars ever produced
There are 3 Italian gentlemen born in 1938 who have shaped car design for decades and they are considered some of the most influential car designers in history. Mr Gandini is one of them, Giorgetto Giugiaro is another one and Leonardo Fiovaranti is the third one. Everyone of them has worked on different things, but Mr Gandini is the expert in sports cars.
Mr Giugiaro work a lot for Bertone and we know what a bunch of great cars they made. On the other hand, Mr Fiovaranti was a great designer for Ferrari SpA among other jobs.
Mr Gandini professional career stardom started in 1963 when he approached Nuccio Bertone, head of the Gruppo Bertone Company, looking for a job in his company. But Giorgetto Giugiaro (Bertone's chief designer at the time), opposed to hire him. Not until two years later when Mr Giugiaro left Bertone, Mr Gandini was hired, and worked for the company for the next fourteen years. He left Bertone in 1980 in order to fulfil his designer spirit by working in other areas away from car like: architecture, helicopters and interior design, a man of taste for sure.
His work in Bertone are more than remarkable. He was in charge of prototype automobiles and show cars. He has work for different automakers like: Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, De Tomaso, Ferrari, ISO, Lamborghini, Lancia, Fiat, Maserati and also the French makers Renault and Citroen. WOW!
He worked a lot with Lamborghini and almost any actual Lambo classic car model was designed by him: Urraco, Jarama, Countach, Diablo, Bravo, Espada, Miura, Espada or Marzal. He was also in charge of the design of the rally car Lancia Stratos and also the funky Renault 5 Turbo (or in French the Renault Supercinq, Super 5) . With Ferrari though, he only designed the Dino 308 GT4. Even though reading some of his interviews, he seems not interested in getting more jobs from Ferrari either. He also designed the beautiful Iso Rivolta Lele. As you can see many different cars for different purposes and brands.
Almost any car he touched had a very sportive feeling and touch; he definitely had great hands to do that job properly. Here are some examples of some classic cars he made produce.
Let me show you some pictures and you judge yourself his work.
